Amazingly Realistic Reconstructions Of Our Ancestors Illustrate Human Evolution

Elisabeth Daynès is a highly acclaimed sculptor and paleontologist who creates incredibly realistic reconstructions of our ancestors using archaeological finds, clay and silicon.
She calls herself a paleoartist, a mixture of hard science and pure art. Not only do these sculptures appear life-like, they are also educational: they help illustrate the process by which we evolved into who we are today. She also sometimes reconstructs famous people, like Darwin, the creator of evolution itself. In 2010 Elizabeth won the most prestigious reward for work in paleontology, the J. Lanzendorf PaleoArt Prize in the 3-Dimensional Art category.
